| One Winter's Day | |
|
This was the second film I ever shot (the first being done the night before.) This was for an assignment; the goal was to tell a story without diegetic sounds, just imagery. I shot the whole thing between 7:00am and 10:00am at the Cowell Quad of UCSC, to avoid any heavy student traffic. It turned out to be one of the windiest days ever, and alot of the footage is shown at half speed to cover for it. |

In the Spring of 1999, Star Wars fans were in an uproar as the first Star Wars film in over 20 years was about to be released. I had long-wanted to film a lightsaber duel, and during the summer after the release of "The Phantom Menace", I got that chance. I spent the summer making the various costumes and the yoda puppet. Then, one morning, my friend Adam showed up at the crack of dawn and said that we had to film that day. I rushed to give myself a haircut in the bathroom, and gathered all my props. We headed up to the Marin Headlands and picked out a spot in the old turret to film. |
